The below answers are intended to serve as a response to frequently asked questions. Can't find an answer below, feel free to contact us.

Do you use the same fryer and utensils to make vegan food?

Absolutely not!

Having extensive experience following a vegan regimen we know and understand what counts as vegetarian or vegan friendly.  We are diligent in preserving the dietary integrity of our vegetarian and vegan offerings by strict separation and kitchen operational procedures. For example, B&B Wings and Things uses 100% canola oil in our fryers rather than lard or other vegan/vegetarian-unfriendly option. We have separate vegan fryers, utensils and cutting boards.

 

What do you use to make vegan wings and/or vegan chick'n?

Chickpeas

All vegan chick'n is made using chickpeas,  gram flour, salt, white pepper, black pepper, onion powder, smoked paprika and vegetable seasoning.

No soy, vital wheat gluten or pea protein is used.

What do you use to make vegan mozzarella sticks?

Crushed Organic Almonds

Filtered water, crushed organic almonds, potato starch, sea salt, cornstarch, psyllium husk, smoked paprika, onion powder and spices.

Is honey used in the vegan honee but'ter and honee bbq sauce?

Absolutely not!

Our vegan honee is made with filtered water, liquified raw sugar blend and apple cider.

Do you use soy?

Absolutely not!

B&B Wings and Things does not discredit the benefits of soy. The decision not to use soy is a matter of personal preference.


Does your food have nuts?

Kind of; Sort of; Not Really

Our vegan mozzarella sticks are made using almonds. No other nuts or similar "nut" products are used. 


Please note, while we do not purposely use nuts we can not guarantee that any product is allergen free.

Do you offer gluten free options?

Yes

We are pleased to offer vegan and non vegan gluten free options. 

What type of oil do you use?

Canola Oil

B&B Wings and Things uses 100% canola oil in our fryers. We do not use lard or any other vegan/vegetarian-unfriendly options.

How are your non vegan chicken items cooked?

To an internal temperature of 185 degrees

B&B Wings and Things cooks all chicken to an internal temperature of 185 degrees Fahrenheit.

Please note,  salmonella is a real concern when it comes to cooking chicken. It gets knocked into our heads again and again that poultry is safe to eat only when:

1. its juices run clear, 

2. when the meat is no longer pink, and 

3. when it registers at least 165° in the thickest part.

But of those, only #3 is the real indicator of a fully-cooked chicken. The USDA says that as long as all parts of the chicken have reached a minimum internal temperature of 165°, it is safe to eat. Color does not indicate doneness. The USDA further explains that even fully cooked poultry can sometimes show a pinkish tinge in the meat and juices. This is particularly true of young chickens whose bones and skin are still very permeable. Pigment in the bone marrow can color the surrounding tissue and make the bones themselves look very dark. Hemoglobin in the muscles can likewise react with air during cooking to give the meat a pinkish color even after cooking. The chicken’s feed and whether it’s been frozen can also affect the final color. WE DO NOT USE FROZEN CHICKEN!

Reprogramming the automatic association between pink chicken and under-cooked chicken is going to take some work.


If pink meat still freaks you out, you can ask that your chicken is cooked hard (or overcooked).
